Last night was a gorgeous night for skiing and snowboarding. The snow groomed real nice, a school was on site for their outing and a bunch of you took advantage of $10 lift tickets.
Weather looks very good for the next three days as well. Some snow chances for today and again Sunday late..........not too much snow predicted........but fresh snow none the less.
Makes me wonder when will the weather switch and start the ending process for this season which while it has had it's ups and downs.........rain, wind, severe cold, ice...............it has had far more wonderful snow condition days........
Target is to have the Fourth Annual Spring Splash on Sunday March 14...........more on that as we get closer........we'll have some updates on the web home page, the blog and facebook.
Tonight should be great with the music in the lodge, some amount of fresh snow and what I heard this morning was the wind will be something like 3 to 8 mph which will not affect outdoor conditions. Tomorrow morning starts with some early early morning girl scouts tubing, then our friends from Lincon Nebraska arrive for a day on the snow.......we even put up a tent on the wooden deck for them to home base in tomorrow.........a couple of birthday partys on the calendar this weekend as well.......
I don't know but the winter olympics just enhance my desires to be active in the winter.......enjoy the snow while it lasts........

A Broken Record
Heard on the news tonite that we broke another record........70 straight days with at least five inches of snow on the ground.........cool.........but at Seven Oaks we have had a lot .........a lot more snow on the ground than five inches........
At the risk of sounding like a broken record........conditions just could NOT be any better than they continue to be.........what a winter!
........and at the risk of sounding like a broken record.......we have a lot on our plates this week.......with a private scouting tubing party on site tonight.......open tomorrow night.....Wednesday........then a school on Thursday......open Thursday night.......and another school Friday....open Friday night........and great temps predicted for Saturday.......with WHAT????.........three to five inches of snow possible for Saturday night........and then to be able to ski and ride on that addition on Sunday will be incredible.......
......and at the risk of sounding like a broken record.....again.......it is just fantastic that so many of you are enjoying Seven Oaks this winter......but what is really great is how many of you stop to tell us, or send us an email, or send us a letter........to say what a good time you had and how much you enjoyed the Seven Oaks Staff..........we hear it over and over about the rental crew, the instructors, food and beverage staff, outr ticket sales staff, the lift operators, the tubing gang........and the ski patrol volunteers.......Thank You customers for taking the time to give us feedback........we post all the comments for all the team to read....and .....Thank You Seven Oaks Team.......
It really is a talented group that has been assembled as the Seven Oaks team to serve you again this winter.......what a neat and fun loving group of people.......
it really is fun to have fun........and call it work.......
thanks again........

The World Series of Snow
I just can't get over how much snow we keep getting..........it's like the World Series for Snow.....what a great way to go into the home stretch of the season......... A skiff today, a little more tomorrow, then another system with maybe 2 inches for Saturday night........WOW......the conditions could not be better than it is right now.........and all of our Season Pass Holders have the opportunity to introduce a couple of buddies to the world of winter recreation during February at a special price that can't be beat........
...and the Winter Olympics start tomorrow ........ shoot we have more snow at Seven Oaks than they do for the Olympics........we are not trucking it in........it is just coming.....and coming.....
...actually I kind of enjoy all the exagerated comments coming from the people that do not enjoy winter sports......geez....they should introduce themselves to the fun, the exhiliration, the exercise one gets from skiing and riding.....shoot....this winter reminds me of the late 50's and the 60's when we got at least this much snow and usually had a lot of wind that made for huge drifts.........great for tunnels and igloos....it was before my days of skiing.....but did we ever come up with some crazy ideas on how to slide down the biggest hill on the farm..........now i have shown my age........
but speaking of the Olympics and trucking it in......I am sure they will make it all work......who would have thought that no snow and warm temps would be the case for this Olympics.......in Canada.......in February.....and oh my gosh the additional expense it is placing on their budget! Unreal........
Schools coming on Friday.........and DON'T FORGET THE LAST SCHEDULED LATE NITE IS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT........
oh yeah and we are open Monday for Presidents Day........some of you may have make up school but some of you may work for a company that is closed that holiday that allows you to come ski or ride for the day.........
later.......

Busy days ahead
Yesterday was great at Seven Oaks. Don't know that I have EVER seen the snow deeper or in better shape than it is right now.
Groomed all the trails into late last night so I could sleep in a little this morning......til 7 am........then groomed tubing.......followed by breakfast for all the NSPS volunteers and employees that wanted to come in for a meal at 9 am ........ Yep, the snow was awesome last night grooming as well. It actually started to snow ......pretty light.......but snow none the less at about 11 pm and was still snowing when I shut down at 1 am this morning....
Wow and the forecast for today, tonight and tomorrow.......MORE SNOW......see the December 7, 2009 blog post if you want to know why the snow just keeps coming. Love it...
Let's see....here's how the next couple of days.....or weeks look at Seven Oaks......open today til 8 pm........lots of folks here enjoying themselves as I write........
.....then this coming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we have schools on site each day...actually it's two schools on friday....one during the day and another one at night........open friday night as usual.......don't actually know what is planned for entertainment friday night in the lodge........
.....then a busy day Saturday.......and our last scheduled Late Nite for the season is this coming Saturday night.......February 13......and there is some talk of a slope style competition during the Late Nite event..........then........normal Sunday open from 11am to 8 pm....
...and Monday February 15 we are open from 10am to 6 pm for Presidents Day.........and a couple schools coming that day as well........and we are offering as special deal for all Home School families on Presidents Day too........
......and I should also mention that Saturday and Sunday February 20 & 21 are our Armed Forces Day.......specials for all those men and women in the military......and their families......our way of honoring their service and sacrafice to this great country of ours.......and again we are asking all staff and visitors to wear your red, white and blue that weekend as well.......
Starting to kick around the ideas for the Fourth Annual Spring Splash with pond skim........more on that later........do you have any ideas you want us to consider???
Nothing but great comments on the new huge jump that was built last Tuesday......thanks Ken and Joel and staff for putting that together........
........so let's end with.......how much snow do you think we will get today, tonight and Monday......some say 6".......some say 8".......and others say as much as 10"........again........see the December 7 blog post .......
have a good day......
