After all these years in the business, it is still always a tough call to make.......but we decided to CLOSE SEVEN OAKS ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 23.
Of course we were already scheduled to be closed Thursday and Friday........Christmas Eve day and Christmas day.
We will open for business Saturday morning December 26......
Tried to make snow Sunday night and again Monday night but it was too warm and too humid.
We don't want employees or patrons risking ice covered roads tomorrow and nobody wants to play or work all day in the rain or sleet so that was the logic we used to make the decision to close.
School on site today and were right on schedule for a day of skiing. Beautiful for them.
Weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday appears to give us every form of precip other than what we want..........only on Friday does the forecast show snow statewide........
we'll be ready for Saturday.......
later......

You guys should have like a couple days a month that you make snow but don't groom it and have a powder day. The slopes wouldn't be completely covered in powder but it would still save you a little money because you wouldn't have to do any grooming, and the skiers and snowboarders would love it.
thanks, we try to do that every year after the right snow......keep in mind that the non groomed snow is also typically slower.......so we have to watch for that......but......I like the way your thinkin....
I sure hope all this rain doesn't kill the base to much.
still snowing at Seven Oaks Christmas day and it looks like close to 8 inches from last night's snow. Groomed from 1 am to 5 am........ps....didn't see Santa
